So what’s a doula anyways?

Think of a doula as part cheerleader, part wise aunt, and part sherpa. Doulas provide non-medical emotional and physical support during birth, whose focus is entirely on the birthing person. Doctors and midwives are primarily concerned with the health and safety of the birthing person and the baby, while doulas are exclusively focused on your comfort and emotional needs.

How is Breathe, Bitch Doula different?

The birth world is intimidating. Everyone and their mother will try to convince you that their way is the best. “Give birth in a forest!” “Schedule your C-section” “Breast is best!” “Eat your placenta like a ravenous wolf!” We try to keep it simple at Breathe, Bitch. We will work together to figure out what makes you feel safe and comfortable, then your doula will be by your side every step of the way to make sure your needs are met. No gimmicks, no shaming—just breathing.
